Jacky Fleming (Clerk)
Originally from Surrey, Jacky lived in London for 10 years and came to Hertfordshire via Leamington Spa – raising 3 sons along the way. She now lives in Bishops Stortford and works part-time for the Parish Council. As our Clerk, Jacky is the only Parish Council employee and works to maintain the smooth administration of the Council. She is also the Responsible Financial Officer and manages the council finances within the annual budget set by the Councillors. She works hard to ensure that the Parish Council follows best practice, keeps up to date with legislation developments and oversees central government requirements.
Paul moved to Stanstead Abbotts from Barnet in 2012. He is married and is interested in hiking and the great outdoors. Professionally he is a Head of Audit at a major UK bank, a certified Internal Auditor and specialist in Anti Money Laundering. This is his first post on a parish council and he is keen to do his best to keep Stanstead Abbotts as a great place to live. He got into volunteering after being a volunteer at the London 2012 Olympics
George moved to the village in 1996 with his 5 cats and married his wife Jane later that year. He noticed that there was a lack of Christmas lights in the High Street and was asked to join the parish council to help out. He works locally as a Gardening Landscaper. His interests are travel, cycling and enjoying life.
Julia has lived in Stanstead Abbotts with husband Tony and son Oliver, since 2002. She is a Chartered Accountant with extensive experience in audit and operational risk management. After years of volunteering on various village projects, such as the playground regeneration and the Riverside Festival, she got together with a fellow volunteer to set up a social enterprise consultancy to help other councils, charities and community groups find funding for their projects.
