APPOINTMENT OF CLERK TO THE COUNCIL

Stanstead Abbotts Parish Council is recruiting a Clerk to the Council, due to the retirement of the current Clerk. The role involves working with the Councillors for the benefit of the community of Stanstead Abbotts. We are an active Parish Council with nine councillors and a budget of £40,000.

The role is part time, 18.5 hours per week. There is some flexibility in the hours as the work may vary from week to week depending on when meetings are planned. Most Parish Council meetings are held in the evenings, so you would need to be available for these. Apart from attending Council and Committee Meetings, you would be free to manage your own time according to the requirements of the job.

Pay is in accordance with the National Joint Council for Local Government Services pay scale and will be remunerated depending on experience and qualifications.

The post is currently home-based, and that will be the official address of the Council. However, the Council is hoping to take up an office in the Parish Hall on Roydon Road, Stanstead Abbotts. On the job training will be offered and we would expect the postholder to work towards gaining the Certificate in Local Council Administration (CiLCA) qualification.

A Recruitment Information Pack providing more information about the role and how to apply, can be found by clicking here.
